Online Differential Calculus Course
Differential Calculus: An Individualized Approach teaches the basic concepts and skills of a first course in College Calculus. Enrolling students should have completed a course in Algebra that stresses functions and function notation because calculus itself requires them.
In outcomes, this course prepares the student with the concepts, skills, and understandings of a traditional college first course in calculus. The emphasis in presenting all topics is an intuitive basis for the understanding of calculus and applying those understandings to a variety of everyday problems that depend upon calculus for their solutions.
The presentation is given as a dialogue between a mentor and a student. The student is expected to participate fully in the conversation. This is especially true for asking questions. At all times, the student can ask for further clarification by simply clicking on a Mentor Button and sending a message to a person thoroughly familiar with the dialogue.
Exercises and Quizzes are designed for the student to monitor his/her own progress in the belief that wise behavior will always insure full understanding before continuing. The student is responsible for working at his/her own best pace to ensure complete learning.
The instruction is dependent upon reasonable reading skills
and conscientious study habits. With those skills and attitudes in place, the
student is assured a successful experience in learning those concepts essential
for the study of Calculus.
